Year 2 had the fantastic opportunity to visit the Tower of London last week to learn all about the Great Fire of London.
During a workshop, the children travelled back in time to 1666 to Thomas Farriner’s bakery where the terrible blaze is said to have started. Using role play and storytelling, the children were gripped by the tragic events in London and they learnt all about the crucial role Samuel Pepys played too.
As well as learning about the Great Fire of London, we made the most of being in the Tower of London by visiting spectacular exhibitions such as the Crown Jewels. The children had a wonderful day but left disappointed they couldn’t take a crown home!
