“Pupils at the school are polite and well mannered. They are confident and happy to engage in the life of the school. All the pupils that I spoke to were proud of their school. Around the school, they conduct themselves extremely well.” OfSTED, March 2017

Head Teacher’s Message

Thank you for visiting Star Primary School website.

At Star Primary you will find motivated children inspired by wonderful adults. We have designed this website to reflect our ethos and give you a flavour of our school. We are very proud of our school, which has served the local community for many happy years.

Our staff are committed to our inspiring and creative curriculum, which offers languages, sports and the creative arts. Children will have the opportunity to encounter Shakespeare, explore journalism and learn about different world cultures. The teaching of a foreign language is a key focus of the school with children taking part in Spanish lessons conducted by native Spanish speaking teachers.
Fundamentally, we aim to develop children’s competence and abilities in the basic skills of Reading, Writing and Numeracy because these are the building blocks of all other learning. We are also striving to further develop the Holistic Curriculum, focussing more on outdoor learning, team work, developing self-esteem and looking after our children’s emotional well-being.

Star Primary School is a Rights Respecting School where every child is equally loved and respected. We hope that you will enjoy using our website and visit it often to find out more about how we are getting on with our learning journeys.

Welcome message

At Star Primary you will find motivated children inspired by wonderful adults. We have designed this website to reflect our ethos and give you a flavour of our school. We are very proud of our school, which has served the local community for over a century. In fact this year we are celebrating our 130th birthday! Recently, the school has enjoyed much success and it is an honour for me to serve as the Head Teacher of such an amazing school.

Our staff are committed to our inspiring Rights Based Curriculum, which offers full coverage to the National Curriculum. Children will have the opportunity to encounter six topic based themes over the course of each year and build on their knowledge within these themes as they progress through the school.

Year 6 Outward Bounds

Click here to see all the adventures our year 6 pupils had at the Lake District.

We support everyone to succeed.

This term our topic is Healthy Hearts where we will be learning about how the human mind and body works and the importance of mental and physical wellbeing. Our aim is for our children to be happy, healthy and strong so that they can confidently face the challenges of the times we live in now and in the future - with sustainable coping strategies.
