World Book Day
The whole school took part in World Book Day 2024. The pupils and teachers enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book character. Prizes were won, stories were told and a highwayman (looking suspiciously like the headteacher) was lurking behind every corner!
Reading Cafes
This week, each class has been treated to a reading cafe. Children have enjoyed a biscuit or two whilst reading a book just for fun!
Reading Buddies
We love reading so much at Star that our pupils wanted to read in different year groups. So we buddied up classes from different key stages so that they could read stories to younger pupils and listen to stories from older pupils.
Author Visit
It wouldn’t be a Star WORLD BOOK WEEK without an author visit and book signing! We invited the wonderful Pia Jones to share one of her therapeutic fairy tales ‘The Sky Fox’. Linked to our topic ‘Express Yourself‘ this book is part of a set of tales which help to explore BIG feelings! It shines a light on how our wellbeing can be supported by the nature around us.
Masked Reader
Each day this week, pupils have had their detective hats on and have been attempting to work out who is behind the mask! The clue is always in the storytelling.
