Last week, all reception classes went on an educational visit to the London Blossom Garden in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford. We were blown away by their outstanding behaviour and their enthusiasm for discovering more about the world around them.
The journey to the Olympic Park was almost as exciting as the Blossom Garden itself! The children loved using public transport by getting on the DLR. The children spotted buses and buildings before going through a tunnel too, there was just so much to see and enjoy!
Once at the Blossom Garden, the children were tasked with finding examples of where numbers appear in nature. This task enabled the pupils to consolidate the fantastic counting and 1 to 1 correspondence they’ve developed so far this term. The children found some wonderful examples including snails, branches with a varying amount of leaves as well as dogs and ducks!
After a delicious picnic in the Blossom Garden, it was time to head back to school and enjoy the journey back all over again!
