Yesterday, a group of pupils from across the school had the most amazing opportunity to attend the Nitto ATP Tour Finals at the O2 Arena in Greenwich.
The first match we saw was a doubles match which went to a super tie-break. The main event was even more spectacular! We had the absolute privilege to see world number 1 and one of the greatest tennis players of all time; Rafael Nadal from Spain, battle it out with world number 4 Daniil Medvedev from Russia. After an exhilarating back and forth match which had the children on the edge of their seats, Rafael Nadal clinched the match in a third set tie break after an incredible comeback! He must have been inspired by our “Vamos Rafa!” chants!
The pupils loved the atmosphere and were gripped by the quality of tennis on show. Some of the children were interviewed for the sports channel Eurosport too! The children were an absolute delight and couldn’t wait to get back to school to pick up a racquet and join the school’s tennis club!
